Formed in 1986 and given federal and tax-exempt status in Georgia in 1987, CHCG is an association of seventy-three national and Georgia voluntary health organizations -- forty-one of which have an active local presence -- that raise funds for research, education, and patient services. CHCG is the largest workplace-giving program devoted exclusively to health and is an affiliate of a national organization, Community Health Charities of America. CHCG has one full-time and two part-time staff persons, is governed by an eleven-member, Georgia-based board of directors, and currently participates in forty-one workplace-giving programs nationally and locally.
