Founded in 1992, given federal tax-exempt status in 1993
and Georgia tax-exempt status in 1995, the mission of Georgia Shares is to
foster social change for all Georgians by raising funds from
workplace-giving programs for its thirty-eight member agencies whose
services focus on HIV/AIDS, the arts, social change, and women's programs.
Georgia Shares has one full-time staff person, is governed by a
Georgia-based board of directors that consists of a representative from
each member organization, and currently participates in seventeen
workplace-giving programs nationally and locally.
